Organic Florence Fennel
Fennel is a multi-purpose plant. Its bulb is a vegetable and its fronds an herb. We harvest them young so that the bulbs can be eaten raw or cooked. This heirloom fennel has a mild licorice flavor and a big crunch. We enjoy braising these sweet bulbs. Tufts University reports that fennel provides vitamins A, C and K, carotenoids, and potassium, and is a good source of fiber.
